Tyler Rogers Pitches Ninth Inning Wednesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers took the mound in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Reds. The Giants had a one-run lead going into the ninth inning, so Rogers would have seen a save situation had they not scored three runs in the top of the inning. Rogers allowed a leadoff walk followed by a single, but then was able to get the next three hitters outs without allowing a run and striking out one. Rogers has been the team's best reliever on the season with a 0.70 ERA and is starting to be used as such, seeing the majority of save opportunities lately. He now has 10 holds and five saves on the season. Rogers' fantasy value is trending upwards as it appears that he may be taking over the closer's role for now over Jake McGee.
