Tyler Skaggs Unable To Make It Through Five Innings
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels of Anaheim starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs made his season debut in Sunday's start at Oakland. He allowed just two earned runs, five hits and a walk with two strikeouts across 4 2/3 innings, throwing 50 of his 86 pitches for strikes. Skaggs was slowed by a forearm issue late in spring training, so it's surprising that he even went this deep into the game. His only real mistake was a titanic blast by Khris Davis. Other than that he was solid, and the southpaw will be a decent fantasy option in AL-only leagues and some deeper mixed play. Next up for Skaggs and the Halos will be a home date with the Texas Rangers on Saturday.
