Tyler Smith To Compete On Left Side Of Line
3 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys think first-round rookie offensive lineman Tyler Smith has a lot of upside, and vice president Stephen Jones said "he'll compete on that left side: left guard, left tackle." Starting left tackle Tyron Smith has missed a lot of time with injuries in recent seasons, so Smith not only provides versatility on the left side of the offensive line, but he could step into the left tackle spot if Smith misses more time in 2022 due to injury. Smith was a two-year starter at left tackle at Tulsa. He's raw on the offensive line and he'll have to clean up some sloppy play penalty-wise, but the Cowboys felt the need to bolster their O-line after it was once considered one of the best units in the NFL several years ago.
