Tyler Soderstrom Erupts With Two Homers At Low-A

3 years agoOakland Athletics prospect Tyler Soderstrom went 3-for-6 with two home runs and five runs driven in on Friday at Low-A. The young catcher (who is also spending time at first base) has now seen 21 of his 45 hits go for extra bases — including seven home runs — in 38 games. Soderstrom is also hitting .296 with a walk rate above 10%, and a 143 wRC+. He was selected 26th overall out of high school in the 2020 amateur draft and was known more for his offensive abilities than his defense as an amateur so the early results are not surprising. Soderstrom, 19, is ranked by Rotoballer as one of the top catching prospects in baseball and is the 86th-best dynasty prospect overall.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
