Tyler Soderstrom Impressing Coaches In A's Camp
4 years agoOakland Athletics catcher prospect Tyler Soderstrom is turning heads in big league camp as he prepares for his first season of pro-ball. The 19-year-old Soderstrom has no chance of being on the Opening Day roster, however, manager Bob Melvin has been impressed with the 2020 first-round draft pick. Melvin said, "For a guy that's still a teenager, it's pretty impressive to watch the type of at-bats he's putting together at big league camp," according to MLB.com's Martin Gallegos. His Cactus League numbers back that up as he's 4-for-7 so far with three doubles, with his most recent double registering an impressive 109.6 MPH exit velocity, per Statcast. Soderstrom is a must-roster catching option in dynasty formats.
