3 years agoThe Calgary Flames have acquired forward Tyler Toffoli from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forwards Tyler Pitlick, Emil Heineman, a first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. With the trade, Toffoli will now be reunited with current Flames head coach Darryl Sutter. Sutter coached the forward when they were both members of the Kings organization, and their time together was highlighted by winning the Stanley Cup in 2014. Toffoli has scored only nine goals through 37 games this season, but a fresh start to a Flames team that is currently on a winning streak and in a Playoff spot can give the winger a boost.
