Tyler Wells Exits With Back Discomfort
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles pitcher Tyler Wells (back) was removed from Wednesday's start against the Tampa Bay Rays with lower-back discomfort. He allowed four earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five across 4 1/3 innings before leaving. The 27-year-old is considered day-to-day, and he will undergo further evaluation after the game. It's unclear if Wells will be available for his next start Monday against the Texas Rangers. Wells owns a 3.90 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 68:23 K: BB across 94 2/3 innings in 2022. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on the situation as the right-hander would be in line for two starts next week.
