Tylor Megill Hits Wall In Fifth Inning On Saturday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill was solid through his first four innings of work on Saturday against the Phillies. Unfortunately, Megill ran out of gas in the fifth inning and yielded two homers and four earned runs before he was removed with two outs. On the day, Megill went 4 2/3 innings pitched, allowing four earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five batters in the Mets 5-3 loss. Megill fell to 1-2 on the season. It was Megill's second rough start in a row, after having posted a 1.04 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in July over 26 IP. Overall, Megill owns a solid 3.20 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 48:12 K:BB ratio over 45 IP. Despite his last two somewhat disappointing outings, he remains a must-start for fantasy managers. That said, expectations should be tempered where he has been unable to go deep in games, limiting his win and quality start total upside.
