Tylor Megill Likely To Start Opening Day
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill is expected to start on Opening Day versus the Washington Nationals. Max Scherzer (hamstring) is likely to start on Friday, while Chris Bassitt gets the nod on Saturday. However, there's a chance that Thursday's contest does get rained out. The 26-year-old was average with the Mets last season. He posted a 4.52 ERA with 99 strikeouts and 27 walks through 18 starts. Hopefully, Megill improves in 2022, but he'll likely end up as a back end starter.
