2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill (shoulder) plans to resume throwing this Friday. It will be his first time throwing a baseball since he was shut down on June 17 with a strained right shoulder. The 26-year-old right-hander was moved to the 60-day injured list on June 27, so he won't be eligible to return to New York's rotation until mid-August. Megill has seen his velocity increase this year, but it's also likely the reason he's already been on the IL twice in 2022. As a result, he's considering using fewer max-effort pitches during his outings to preserve his arm for the remainder of the year. In nine starts this year, Megill is 4-2 with a 5.01 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, 47 strikeouts and 11 walks in 41 1/3 frames.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
