Tyrell Williams Is In Concussion Protocol
3 years agoDetroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced that wide receiver Tyrell Williams (concussion) is in the concussion protocol. In the third quarter of Week 1, Williams got hit in the head by 49ers safety Jaquiski Tartt and was removed from the game. Prior to being taken out, Williams caught two of his three targets for 14 yards. The Lions have one of the weakest receiving corps in the league, but Williams is expected to be the No. 1 option this season. If Williams misses Week 2, Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Quintez Cephus could all see an uptick in snaps. St. Brown and Cephus offer the most intrigue, but the Lions No. 1 and No. 2 options on the offense remain tight end T.J. Hockenson and running back D'Andre Swift. It's best to avoid any wide receiver on the Lions at the moment and more should be known on the status of Williams as the week goes on.
