Tyrod Taylor Out, Davis Mills To Start Thursday
3 years agoHouston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) will be inactive on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers. That means rookie Davis Mills, who took over in Week 2, will get his first NFL start. Mills completed 8-of-18 passes when he entered the game against the Cleveland Browns, racking up 102 yards and a touchdown. The absence of Taylor could mean that Brandin Cooks will lose some fantasy value, but he should see enough volume to give fantasy managers FLEX consideration, even with the rookie throwing him passes. Mills is completely off the fantasy radar for now, as he figures to experience some growing pains making the leap to the NFL. The Texans could rely more on the run to shelter their new starting quarterback, so Mark Ingram II, David Johnson, and Phillip Lindsay could all see a slight increase in volume.
