Umpires Strike Back, Continues War Against Brett Gardner
5 years agoAfter being tossed on Aug. 9 (along with manager Aaron Boone) in a case of mistaken identity for the actions of New York Yankees outfielder Cameron Maybin, outfielder Brett Gardner was again ejected in Saturday's game against Cleveland. First, it was Boone who got the hook for arguing balls and strikes. It was then Gardner's time, being ran out of the game for responding to Boone's ejection by banging on the top of the dugout with his bat before CC Sabathia then got his own invitation to join the clubhouse party. Before his exit, Gardner was o-for-3 with two strikeouts, but he is in the middle of a resurgent year with 17 home runs and 67 runs scored.
