Velus Jones Jr. Does Not Practice Wednesday
2 years agoChicago Bears rookie wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) did not take part in practice on Wednesday. Jones didn't play much in the preseason and most likely went undrafted in standard 12-team leagues this summer. The third-rounder's status for the Week 1 regular season opener on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers is now up in the air, but he won't be a recommended starter for fantasy managers, even if he does end up playing. The 25-year-old should only be stashed this year in dynasty/keeper and much deeper single-year leagues for the time being. Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown and Bryon Pringle figure to be Chicago's starting wideouts in three-wide sets to begin the year.
