Vernon Davis In Line For More Work
6 years agoWashington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis figures to see most of the snaps left behind by the injured Jordan Reed, who is doubtful to play on Sunday. With quarterback Josh Johnson making his first NFL start in seven years, it stands to reason that Davis would take on the safety blanket role in what is certain to be a watered-down passing attack. That doesn't figure to make him fantasy-relevant against a Jaguars defense that has done well at limiting opposing tight ends for the most part. The only conceivable reason for starting Davis in a playoff matchup is if you need a replacement for Reed, and even then, it'd be worth looking around for another option.
