3 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Victor Caratini isn't in the starting lineup for the first game of the team's doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. The 27-year-old is hitting .222 with a .320 on-base percentage, six home runs and a pair of stolen bases in 241 plate appearances this season. Webster Rivas is starting at catcher instead against Atlanta left-handed starter Kyle Muller. Rivas, who is also batting eighth, has logged 65 plate appearances for the Padres this season. In those 65 plate appearances, he's hitting .228 with a .313 on-base percentage and two home runs.
