Victor Martinez Homers To Continue Hot Streak
6 years agoDetroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez has mostly been disappointing this season, as the signs of old age have definitely shown themselves with regularity. But over the last week, the veteran slugger has been on a bit of a hot streak. His homer Friday off Carlos Carrasco was his second in the last five games, and he's hitting .500 (9 for 18) with six RBI during that span. His 1.460 OPS is far and away the best on the team, and is seventh highest in all of MLB among hitters with at least 10 AB over the last week. It doesn't mean you should go out and grab him in most formats, but he could be worth a look in DFS play as he has a .300 lifetime average against opposing pitcher Mike Clevinger.
