Vikings Cut Sean Mannion
2 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings cut quarterback Sean Mannion on Tuesday, according to a source. Mannion could wind up returning to join the practice squad. The Vikings also cut Kellen Mond on Tuesday, so starter Kirk Cousins and backup Nick Mullens are the only current signal-callers on the 53-man roster. Mannion definitely outperformed Mond in the preseason, but at best, he'll be Minnesota's No. 3 if he returns to the organization. The 30-year-old former third-rounder went 34-for-57 for 315 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in four games (two starts) in his two seasons for the Vikings. Mannion has played in only 14 games (three starts) in the NFL in his six seasons.
