Vikings Hire Jerrod Johnson As Offensive Assistant
3 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings hired Jerrod Johnson to serve as an offensive assistant and to work with the quarterbacks under new head coach Kevin O'Connell, according to a source. Johnson is a two-time participant in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, and Johnson served as a quality control coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. The 33-year-old has also worked with the San Francisco 49ers. He played quarterback at Texas A&M and went undrafted before playing for six different NFL teams. Johnson never actually played in a regular season game, however. He'll primarily be working with quarterback Kirk Cousins, who the Vikings are expected to retain heading into the 2022 season.
