Vikings Zeroing In On Kevin O'Connell For Head Coach
3 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings are zeroing in on Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell as their next head coach, according to sources. However, Minnesota cannot finalize a deal until after the Super Bowl on Feb. 13. O'Connell is expected to be the 10th head coach in Vikings history after the team spent most of Wednesday interviewing Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh has informed the school that he will return after the Vikings never made him an offer. O'Connell, 36, was Washington's quarterbacks coach in 2017 in Kirk Cousins' final year in D.C. O'Connell has also worked with new Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.
