3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez allowed eight runs in just 2 1/3 innings pitched in a loss at Boston on Friday. Velasquez has had some bad starts this year, but this one takes the cake as he allowed four walks and three homers as his ERA rose to an unflattering 5.35 supported by an equally-bad 5.45 FIP. The veteran righty has allowed 1.87 HR/9 this season which would rank third-worst among starters if Velasquez had enough innings to qualify for the pitching leaderboards. His primary use in fantasy is as a pitcher to target with bats in DFS.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
