4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez allowed one run in six innings to earn his first win of the season Saturday against the Blue Jays. Velasquez allowed just two hits but walked three while lowering his ERA to 5.46. While that number looks high, his peripherals are a bit better with a 4.40 FIP and 4.16 xFIP. He has a 30-plus percent strikeout rate this season so he does have fantasy upside as a streamer. He'll face the Rays next week in a matchup that looks tough on paper. However, Tampa has the fourth-highest strikeout rate vs right-handed pitching and may be resting starters in the last weekend of the regular season.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
