Vince Velasquez Struggles Again Wednesday Versus Nats
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings pitched against the Nationals on Wednesday. Velasquez was cruising in this one as he completed four shutout innings. Everything came crashing down in the fifth, however, as he walked the first two batters he faced. Velasquez would allow both of them to score before being removed from the game and watching his baserunners score when Archie Bradley served up a three-run shot. The veteran righty hasn't recorded an out past the fifth inning since May 25 and has seen his ERA balloon up to 4.74. He's not someone who can be trusted in fantasy lineups at the moment regardless of format. A brutal matchup in Cincinnati is next up for Velasquez.
