4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez will make his next scheduled start Friday, according to manager Joe Girardi. That being said, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported top-prospect Spencer Howard is close to joining the Big League club after throwing four innings at the team's alternate training site Sunday. Velazquez struggled with the Marlins so he could be on a short leash with his rotation spot. The team could also use Velasquez and Howard in a tandem situation. Howard is the more interesting name for fantasy purposes but his main appeal is still in keeper or dynasty leagues as he is yet to pitch above Double-A.
