Vince Velasquez Turns In Five Good Innings Versus Yanks
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez wasn't at his best Saturday versus the Yankees, but the right-hander turned in five solid innings in a no-decision. Velasquez allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while picking up five strikeouts against a good New York offense. It was a solid bounce-back effort from the veteran right-hander after he allowed nine runs across just seven innings in his two prior starts. Velasquez lowered his ERA to 4.25 with today's effort but his FIP remains above five. He can be a streaming option in deep leagues, but most fantasy managers shouldn't start Velasquez in his next start against the Giants.
