Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Finishes Second In AL MVP Race
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finished second in the voting for American League Most Valuable Player, as MLB announced on Thursday. Shohei Ohtani won the award in a unanimous vote. While Guerrero Jr. did not receive a first-place vote, he did receive 29 of 30 available second-place selections, with the only remaining vote going to Royals catcher Salvador Perez. Guerrero Jr. slashed .311/.401/.601 with 48 homers, 123 runs, and 111 RBI this season. At just 22 years of age, he appears poised to be in the running for MVP for years to come.
