3 years agoX-rays on Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s right foot on Wednesday night came back negative, according to manager Charlie Montoyo, but Guerrero is still "really sore," which is why he's getting the day off on Thursday against the Boston Red Sox. There's a possibility that Guerrero could pinch hit on Thursday, depending on how he responds to pre-game treatment. The 23-year-old superstar fouled a ball off his foot on Wednesday, but the injury shouldn't keep him out for long. With Vlad out, Gosuke Katoh will start at first base and hit eighth against Red Sox right-hander Garrett Whitlock.
