Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Slugs Homer Number Nine
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. provided the only offense for his team as his club fell 5-1 to the Phillies on Friday. The 22-year-old went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks as he slugged his ninth long ball of the season to the opposite field. Guerrero is up to 27 RBI on the season with 26 runs and a shiny .310/.440/.566 slash line through 37 games as he's finally living up to the top prospect pedigree. Tonight marked the first of a 10-game homestand at the hitter-friendly TD Ballpark in Dunedin, so Guerrero has a chance to truly pad his stats before May is over.
