Vladimir Gutierrez Picks Up Fourth Win
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez allowed two runs over six innings in a 6-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday. Gutierrez struck out six and walked two in the win to improve his record to 4-3 on the year. The rookie hurler has been solid for the Reds this season, posting a 4.67 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts over 44 1/3 innings of work. That season-long line looks a whole lot better if you remove his previous start against the San Diego Padres where he allowed six runs. He's worth considering as a streaming option in plus matchups but Gutierrez draws a tougher assignment against the Milwaukee Brewers next time through the rotation.
