Wander Franco Could Play In Rehab Game This Weekend
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays skipper Kevin Cash said that shortstop Wander Franco (quadriceps) is running well and will go through full workouts on Thursday and Friday at the team's spring training complex. He could serve as the designated hitter in a Florida Coast League game on Saturday. The 21-year-old star shortstop is making good progress from his quadriceps injury, and fantasy managers might be able to throw him back into starting lineups at some point next week, barring any setbacks. Before his injury, he was slashing .270/.305/.421 with four home runs, 19 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases in 45 games. Franco is a must-start when he's active. Taylor Walls will continue to man the 6 until Franco is ready to return.
