3 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco isn't starting on Saturday. The Rays will take on the Miami Marlins and right-hander Sandy Alcantara but will do so with one of their best hitters on the bench. Franco is hitting .284 with a .348 on-base percentage, seven home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 276 plate appearances this season. Joey Wendle is moving to shortstop to start in Franco's place on Saturday. The veteran is batting fifth but is probably only worth a look as a streaming option in deeper leagues. In 478 plate appearances this season, Wendle is batting .272 with a .326 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and seven stolen bases.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
