Wander Franco Struggling This Spring
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco is having a slow spring so far through 26 Grapefruit League at-bats. He's slashing just .192/.185/.231 with one double, three RBI, and five strikeouts. He was also caught stealing on his lone attempt in nine games. There isn't much to see here with Franco considering how small the sample size is and the fact that he's not fighting for a roster spot. Fantasy managers would still like to see him pick things up over the next few days before the regular season begins on April 7. The 21-year-old put up an impressive .288/.347/.463 batting line to go along with 18 doubles, seven home runs, 39 RBI, and a pair of steals across 281 at-bats after getting called up in late June last season. He's primed for a big season with the defending AL East champions.
