4 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Carter Kieboom was recalled from the club’s alternate site prior to Saturday’s contest against Atlanta and left-hander Max Fried. Kieboom, ranked as the club’s No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will bat sixth Saturday and hold down the hot corner. He scuffled across 17 games earlier this season, with his demotion serving as a de facto reset button. With Starlin Castro (wrist) done for the year, Kieboom will have a clearer path to playing time despite the .559 OPS that he has compiled. Despite some early season-long fantasy intrigue, Kieboom is best viewed as a DFS (and keepers league) asset at this stage.--Jesse Borek
