Washington Releases Peyton Barber
3 years agoThe Washington Football Team has released running back Peyton Barber as the deadline to cut to a 53-man roster on Tuesday approaches. Barber was outperformed by rookie running back Jaret Patterson in the preseason and during camp, which is the main reason Washington decided to move on from him. The 27-year-old carried the ball 94 times for 258 yards and four touchdowns last season, so Patterson could potentially take most of these vacated carries. His departure could open up some more touchdown opportunities for Antonio Gibson, as he is now clearly the best option to convert in short-yardage situations at the goal-line. Even if Barber is picked up by a team in need of a running back, he will remain off the fantasy radar for now.
