7 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) is not expected to be ready for Opening Day, according to manager Don Mattingly. When healthy, Chen is expected to be in the team's starting rotation, but when he'll make his debut is unknown. The lefty made just five starts in 2017 due to elbow issues, and he'll be eased into action this year. His strikeout and walk rates (6.8 K/9, 2.5 BB/9) were not what fantasy owners wanted to see. Until he proves his health, he's one to avoid for fantasy owners. Even when healthy, he has little to no upside unless you're just looking for an innings-eater.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
