When Will Carlos Correa Break Out?
6 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa will look to get his season on track when the team opens up a series against the Mariners in Minute Maid Park. Correa has been a shell of himself since injuring his back in late June and has been bumped down to fifth in the order recently. Correa is slashing only .181/.261/.233 with four extra-base hits over his last 116 at-bats. These numbers are alarming for a player that was an MVP-candidate a year ago. He does have hits in each of his last three games but Correa is either mired in an epic slump or is not 100% healthy. Correa will face Mariners left-hander Wade LeBlanc on Monday and the Astros shortstop is hitting .281 against left-handed pitching this season.
