2 years agoKansas City Royals infielder Whit Merrifield (toe) will be placed on the injured list. The 33-year-old has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right toe. He's out of the Royals' lineup on Monday for the first time in 553 games. The expectation is that Merrifield will be in a walking boot for the next few weeks. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Merrifield back until sometime after the All-Star break. This is a tough break for fantasy managers, but hopefully he can return before the end of the month.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
