White Sox Designate Adam Eaton For Assignment
3 years agoThe Chicago White Sox have announced on Wednesday that they have designated outfielder Adam Eaton for assignment. Eaton joined the White Sox for the second time in his career with a one-year deal this offseason, but things didn't go as planned this time around. The veteran hit a weak .201 with five home runs, 28 RBI and two stolen bases over 189 at-bats. Eaton could get a chance with another organization, but his days of fantasy relevance are all but over at this stage in his career. Outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will replace Eaton on the active roster. Engel has been banged up most of the season and most of his value comes as a defensive outfielder. Engel can be avoided in all formats for now.
