White Sox Extend Jose Abreu
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox have signed first baseman Jose Abreu to a three-year, $50 million contract extension. Abreu recently signed the team’s qualifying offer, but the club decided to reward the slugger with an extra two years. The White Sox have first baseman Andrew Vaughn rising up the ranks in their farm system and Abreu will likely become the designated hitter at some point during his contract. Abreu hit .284 with 33 home runs and 123 RBI this past season and will be in the middle of what could be an underrated White Sox offense in 2020.
