4 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal will be absent from Sunday's lineup versus the Texas Rangers. The veteran has been off to a really rocky start this season and has just six hits over 46 at-bats this season with two home runs and nine RBI. Grandal has also struggled defensively with four catcher interference calls against him. Grandal has a strong track record as one of the better offensive catchers in the league, but had a rough 2020 and his slow start this season is not encouraging with prospect Zack Collins as a strong backup option. Managers should still roster Grandal with his past history, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up another catcher until Grandal breaks out of his slump. Zack Collins will replace Grandal on Sunday and bat seventh versus Texas Rangers starter Kohei Arihara.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
