4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Wil Crowe earned a quality start on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five in six innings of work against the Cubs. It was Crowe's best start of the year, as he set season-highs in innings pitched and strikeouts. That being said, it came against a struggling Cubs offense, and none of his peripherals suggest that Crowe is trending upwards. If anything, it appears that Crowe has been lucky in recording a 4.66 ERA, as he also sports a 7.76 xERA. Until Crowe can put up a performance like this against better offenses, managers can safely leave him on the waiver-wire.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
