Wil Myers Busts Out Of Slump
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in Thursday’s blowout win against the Atlanta Braves. Myers snapped a 1-for-26 slide with an RBI single in the fifth inning then blasted a two-run job in the sixth for his sixth long ball of the year. After a hot start, Myers has faded considerably, slashing .248/.293/.459 with 28 runs-plus-RBI. The touted power-speed fantasy asset hasn’t stolen a base since March 30 and is striking out an astounding 37 percent of his plate appearances. While most Myers investors are prudent to hold tight, it might be worth benching the streaky 28-year-old and avoiding him in DFS until he turns it around.

Wil Myers' Neck Injury Not Serious
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers (neck) said the injury that forced him to leave Sunday night's game early against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers is not serious. "It's definitely day-to-day, nothing more than that," Myers said about his neck tightness. The 31-year-old struck out in his only plate appearance against the Dodgers before leaving on Sunday. While he shouldn't miss significant time, there's still a chance he won't be in the starting lineup on Monday for the series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Myers is hitless so far in six at-bats in September and is slashing just .247/.296/.348 with three home runs, 29 RBI and 20 runs scored in 198 at-bats this season.

Wil Myers Exits Early During Sunday's Contest
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers (neck) was forced to exit early during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 31-year-old was pulled out of the contest in the third inning due to neck tightness. Since then, the organization hasn't given an update on Myers, but the expectation is that he's listed as day-to-day. Possibly, the Padres place him on the injured list, but might wait a few days. Matt Beaty replaced Myers on Sunday, so he'd likely see more playing time, assuming Myers sits out more contests.

Wil Myers Activated On Monday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Wil Myers (knee) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Monday. The right-handed slugger will immediately move right back into the lineup against the Colorado Rockies. He has been sidelined since early June due to inflammation in his right knee. Myers will cover first base and bat fifth versus right-hander Anthony Senzatela on Monday. Fantasy managers in need of a power boost in their lineups should look and see if Myers is available.

Wil Myers' Rehab Assignment To Continue
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers' (knee) minor league rehab assignment will continue for at least a couple more days, as he and the Padres felt he'd benefit by getting some more at-bats at Triple-A El Paso. In three games, Myers is 4-for-14 and went 6-for-18 in five games with Low-A Lake Elsinore. "I don't think he feels comfortable enough with the time off yet to where he's ready to face major league pitching," skipper Bob Melvin said. The 31-year-old has been on the injured list since June 2, and the Friars could choose to ease him back into action at the major league level once he's activated. In 32 games before his knee injury, Myers was hitting .234/.276/.306 with one home run, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored in 124 at-bats.
