Wil Myers, Emilio Pagan Hit Injured List

4 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed outfielder Wil Myers (undisclosed) and reliever Emilio Pagan (biceps) on the injured list on Wednesday. Myers’ injury is a surprise after he homered on Monday, but the team believes he’ll be back “shortly.” He’s enjoying an excellent campaign with a .967 OPS and nine homers. Right field will likely be a platoon of Jurickson Profar, Jorge Mateo and newcomer Greg Allen. Pagan has been dealing with right biceps inflammation and with the recent bolstering of the bullpen, he’ll be temporarily shut down, retroactive to Aug. 31. Pagan has scuffled this season with a 5.40 ERA in 15 innings. The moves, along with optioning reliever David Bednar, allows the activation of the recently acquired Allen, starter Mike Clevinger and reliever Dan Altavilla to the 28-man roster.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
