7 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed outfielder/first baseman Wil Myers (foot) on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday with a left foot contusion/bone bruise. The move is retroactive to Aug. 3. Outfielder Franmil Reyes was recalled from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move. Myers has struggled this year with injuries but has been pretty solid when he's played, hitting .273 with nine home runs, 30 RBI and five steals. It further weakens an already soft SD offense. Reyes has some pop but swings and misses too much and will probably just be a platoon outfielder. Hunter Renfroe and Travis Jankowski should see more frequent playing time with Myers on the shelf.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
