Wil Myers Starting Rehab Assignment
7 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday with Triple-A El Paso. Myers has been out since April 29 with an oblique strain and has been limited to 10 games all season. The initial prognosis was an early-July return, but his recovery appears to be progressing better than expected. Due to the extended absence, Myers could still be a couple weeks away from major league action. He's been a fantasy bust this season but owners could capitalize on his current basement-level value. If he stays on the field, he should reasonably threaten 15 homers and 15 steals and an .800 OPS for the remainder of the season.
