Smith is batting .260 with a .367 on-base percentage, 25 home runs, and three stolen bases in 493 plate appearances this season. Instead, it'll be Austin Barnes starting behind the plate and hitting eighth against the Milwaukee Brewers and left-hander Eric Lauer. Barnes is batting .215 with a .301 on-base percentage, six home runs, and a stolen base in 220 plate appearances this season.
