Will Smith With No Setbacks
7 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Will Smith (elbow) said he hasn't had any setbacks in his recovery from Tommy John surgery and recently threw his seventh bullpen session. However, he's unsure if he'll be ready for opening day, and the training staff is being cautious with him. It's hard to say how Smith will fare in 2018 after missing all of last season, but the early returns are positive. The left-hander had an impressive 11.9 K/9 from 2013 to 2016 and should be a high-leverage arm at the back of the bullpen if healthy. However, he won't have much fantasy value unless you're in a league that counts holds.
