5 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels selected shortstop Will Wilson out of North Carolina State with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Monday. Wilson led the Wolfpack with a .335 batting average, 20 doubles, 16 home runs and a .661 slugging percentage, and he drew 33 walks with just 46 strikeouts across 258 plate appearances. There are some questions about his arm, which might precipitate a move to second base down the road. That's where he played for USA Baseball's collegiate national team in 2018.--Daniel Dobish
