3 years agoPractice revealed some things about William Byron and the Hendrick Motorsports Racing team. Byron was not very fast but will start 12th on Sunday at Atlanta. That is because of Friday's inclement weather which tossed actual qualifying out the window. The No. 24 Chevy turned in the 27th fastest lap in practice but those lap averages were in the 30.5's even on short runs. Can Byron keep up with the faster Chevy's if there are fewer cautions? That is uncertain at best which will make it difficult for Byron to stick around in contention.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
