William Byron Could Carry Speed At Vegas Sunday
3 years agoWilliam Byron was turning in some fast laps during the Saturday practice session. That being said, the Hendricks car will start outside of Row 7 from Las Vegas. Byron was one of six cars that turned in a sub-30 second qualifying lap. Now, how does this work when it comes into longer runs? The Next-Gen car has squashed them at times but it is possible. Byron was showing less speed at times (30.5 second laps average for a 20 lap run). That late loop was a bit of a concern. It represented a bigger differential from his five lap average than expected. If he corrects that a bit then Byron can race up front Sunday.
